Camp announced for July 22-23, 2010 at Joliet Catholic High School
SAN DIEGO, CA May 26, 2010 – Former professional players Doug Bedinger of Bedinger’s Bullpen in Joliet and Joliet Jackhammers Hall of Famer Ryan Sienko of Catch and Throw in San Diego, CA have announced a pitching and catching camp at Joliet Catholic High School in Braidwood July 22-23, 2010.
“Catch and Throw is proud to have partnered with Doug Bedinger and Bedinger’s Bullpen to provide this unique pitching and catching camp. Our missions are the same, to maximize the health and performance of every athlete that we work with.” Said Sienko of Catch and Throw “The experiences that Doug and I had as players and the amount of research and work with clients that we have done as instructors offer each athlete a great opportunity to learn the same mechanics and do the same drills that professional players do. ”
Doug Bedinger opened Bedinger’s Bullpen in 2005 after a ten year minor league career with the Minnesota Twins and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations and many years of instructing at baseball academies. He works with many of the Joliet area’s best pitching prospects including Colorado Rockies 2008 4th Round Draft pick Ethan Hollingsworth. Doug’s extensive pitching background and work with the National Pitching Association has made him a great resource in the community to those wanting to further their baseball career.
Ryan Sienko founded Catch & Throw, a catching instruction and conditioning company, after an 8 year minor league career with the Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox organizations including an All-Star year with the Joliet Jackhammers in 2002. Earlier this year, Ryan was the first player inducted into the Joliet Jackhammers Hall of Fame. Following his playing career he became the Director of Operations for the National Pitching Association and traveled the country working with 1000’s of pitchers each year with Pitching Guru Tom House. He speaks nationally on pitching and catching and recently appeared on the Fox Sports hit television series Sports Science as a pitching expert.
The camp is open to pitchers and catchers of all ages. Each athlete will receive extensive information on pitching and catching, drills to support all the movements, and lectures on mechanics, functional fitness specific to pitchers and catchers and nutrition and hydration to aid the recovery cycles.
